I will test and try to get specifics.


ok, I think I've figured out the problem with 0.10.38, and you'll 
probably kill me for this.  gettext 0.10.38 is incompatible with 
autoconf 2.5x.  It works only with 2.13.  I've patched our configure.in 
to compensate for that, so now we should actually work with either 
autoconf, and any gettext >= 0.10.35.  Go ahead and try again with CVS.
