configure broke here:
./configure
[...]
checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check 
your installation and add the correct paths!

config.log only has:
configure:6496: checking for X
configure:6712: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your 
installation and add the correct paths!

./configure --x-includes=/usr/X11R6/include/ --x-lib=/usr/X11R6/lib/
works fine, reports
checking for X... libraries /usr/X11R6/lib/, headers /usr/X11R6/include/

old configure reported:
checking for X... libraries /usr/X11/lib, headers .
