[Xastir-dev] Xastir memory tweaks

Please report back on the latest CVS:  I'm getting a significant
reduction in Xastir's memory use compared with two days ago.

Am currently running 24,000 stations and it's using 22megs of
memory.  Down from about 58megs.

These fixes are available on anon CVS server right now.
