With recent versions of Xastir, outgoing message lines will be black
until they are acked.  Once acked, they return to normal colors.  If
the message times out, you'll see TIMEOUT text in front of the
message line.

The only time things are strange is if you clear all outgoing
messages with an unacked message still in the queue.  That line will
remain black from that point on.

So are ALL of the positions and changes made to objects.  If you've
moved it around the screen, when you restart Xastir you'll see a
trackline for the object, and the object will be in it's last
position.
