I don't know that I have IM devel installed.  This is RedHat 7.3 and I think 
it came with the distro.  I have downloaded the binary tar file which seems 
to be the same version.

In the header file quantize.h the prototype of CompressImageColormap is just 

extern MagickExport void
  CompressImageColormap(Image *),
  DestroyQuantizeInfo(QuantizeInfo *),
  GetQuantizeInfo(QuantizeInfo *);

This looks pretty much like the way it is called in maps.c except for the name 
change.
