[Xastir] Maps -- I gotta be missing something here.

I've got a bunch of locally stored Tiger shapefiles.  Unzip everything to 
'/usr/local/share/xastir/maps' and do the little file permissions dance.  
They don't show up in the map chooser.  Expand the directory or not.  Nothing 
there.  The directory names show up, just not the shape files.

.....that noise is me banging my head with a brick.
