Be very careful! If you must, the following should do the trick.

as root:
rm /usr/local/bin/xastir
rm -rf /usr/local/xastir
------------------------------
NOTE: Any time you issue a line that starts with "rm -rf" as root you
should type the line and then stop and read it to be sure its really
what you want to do.
