I'd try some of these:

    ps2pdf
    pstopnm then pnmtotiff or pnmtopng
    convert *.ps *.jpg
    xv

It's probably too late to tell you that you could have turned on the
screen capture stuff, then copied the /var/tmp/*.png file somewhere
else periodically.  Might have saved you some trouble.
