Yea, the big 'X'...

If you want to "pretty-up" your icons, you can always edit your local
copy of the xastir/symbols/symbols.dat file.  You can make them look
like anything you want on your local system.  If you edit it, keep a
separate copy of it somewhere so you don't lose it during any
upgrades (or set the permissions to 444).
