[Xastir] FreeBSD 4.5 Problem

It's my lowly laptop, 90Mhz and 32M. It appears to be related to the 
serial port, but I could be wrong. I'm sure it's not an Xastir problem, 
since it works fine with FreeBSD 4.8 on my desktop. It appears that the 
laptop locks up, but if you give it enough time, something happens. 
However, the CPU usage is very low during all this.
