[Xastir] Suggestions and questions

Hi,

Xastir shows up but I still have a Mac-specific problems (sorry to
bother you with newb questions, but I checked the six last months of
the Xastir-list archive, I couldn't find the answers.)

1 Xastir is currently in /Applications/xastir/xastir115 like other
MacOS X applications. Is this correct? Where am I to put the maps so
they can be seen by the application:
/Applications/xastir/xastir115/maps folder? /sw folder?
/usr/local/xastir/maps folder? Now when I open Map Chooser I only have
a item in the maps chooser called GPS/ Also remember I use Europe
maps :)

2 I own a Baycom KISS modem, tied to a (perfectly working) Keyspan
USA28X USB-serial converter. With the ZTerm application, an
oscilloscope shows that Start-stop signals are present on DB9 pin 3.
The thing is Baycom doesn't use pin 2 & 3 but DTR 4 (20) FOR TxD, CTS 8
(5) for RxD, and RTS 7 (4) for PTT. Is this modem Xastir (serial KISS
TNC option) compatible? Beside that, am I to install AX-25 layer?

Another issue is more Xastir specific:

I would like to use recycled Navtech CD-ROM used in many car navigation
systems. Is the SDAL format compatible? If not it would be of highest
interest to include those detailed maps in Xastir, as these CD-ROM
become more and more available now as car nav system market grows. If a
programmer guru reads me, he will find the SDAL specs at:
http://www.navtech.com/sdalformat/formatspec_register.html
What do you think?

Thanks for your bright ideas...
