[Xastir] PNG snapshot problem

Sorry folks....

one other piece of info - I have been using the toposerver as my map,
and PNG snapshots die.  So, I did some otehr testing

When I use 
terraserver.geo, it works fine
no map at all, it works fine
tigermaps, works just fine

So, there is something flaky for sure.
