I keep a hash per client type.  Each hash entry is callsign-SSID, so
if you're running multiple types of clients and/or multiple
instances, keeping them separate by SSID, it will catch all of them.
I count the hash entries after and hour and then wipe them clean
again.

After I get a few more entries I might change the line types so they
aren't as cluttered.  Right now they're ok with both points and
lines for each client.
