The permissions and the extents look ok on that file.  I know you
said you had it working yesterday for a bit, then copied some
original files back into that directory.  Remember that Linux is
case-sensitive, while Windows is not.  Converting from INF files to
GEO files can throw you if there's not an exact case-match.

What are the contents of your danmark.geo file?  Is the
filename/path specified in that file a perfect match for the
danmark.gif file?

Have you tried re-indexing all maps?

Are you zoomed/panned into the correct area of the world where
danmark.geo should apply?

Do you have all maps disabled?
    Map->Disable All Maps

Raster maps disabled w/auto maps enabled?
    Map->Enable Auto Maps
    Map->Auto Map - Disable Raster Maps
