Yes, and you have to look at the contents of the *.geo files.  In the
file it references the name of the .gif file that is the map.  If the
reference in the .geo file is to "Amap.gif" and the actual name of the
file is "amap.gif" it won't work. It look fine in the file below, but
you should check the others.

Go ahead and select all your local ".geo" files in the map chooser. 
Then zoom out to view the entire world.  Then start zooming in to where
the maps should be.

Let us know if that doesn't do the trick.
