[Xastir] Another newbie question

Thanks for the help on the last one guys.  I have another (few) 
questions now!  :)

I can get Xastir to load ok, but it won't see my map files.  It does see 
.map files.  When I do ./configure it says:

Building with AX25.......... : no
Building with Festival...... : no
Building with GPSMan........ : no
Building with ShapeLib...... : yes
Building with ImageMagick... : no
Building with libproj....... : no
Building with GeoTiff....... : no
Building with GDAL/OGR...... : no
Building with pcre.......... : no
Building with dbfawk........ : no


So I assumed that's the reason it won't see my other files.   Now here's 
the problem I'm running into.

I downloaded and installed ImageMagick rpms (also the src.rpm) and they 
seemed to install fine.  I reinstalled Xastir, and I still get that 
problem.  Plus I can't see shape files, shouldn't they work with 
ShapeLib working ok? 

Now, Xastir "runs" just fine... but when I do the make (or make install) 
I get these errors at the end:

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lbz2
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [xastir] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/chris/aprs/xastir-1.2.1/src'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1

Not real sure what all that means, but I don't think any kind of error 
is good!
Ideas on either of these?   Using Mandrake 9.2 here...
