I asked on the APRSIG about this, and evidently my thoughts on
lower-case/upper-case on RF were wrong.  You can send lower-case
characters across RF.

Check your path that you set with the TT-3 config program.  It's
likely that you have a lower-case 'w' in there.  Change it.

Let us know if that was the problem.
