[Xastir] Maps

I hesitate to use the word "maps" in the subject line, but that's all I 
could come up with.
I got the printer working in suse 9 and xastir sort of working, but no 
maps.  The status line says "loading terraserver maps" but nothing come 
down the pipe.  I see where wget or libcurl must be compiled in.  It 
(readme.maps) says ImageMagic should be compiled in also.  Well I know 
ImageMagic is in and I thought I saw something about wget during the 
compile, but still no download of maps.  Is there a way to probe xastir 
to see what is compiled in?  And, how does one compile something like 
wget into xastir if it isn't there.  I know it is on the system and so 
is curl.
