I _think_ that objects/items are behaving mostly as I'd expect now.
While running one long test though I saw the old positions (and
therefore the track-lines) disappear, just as old positions of
mobile stations disappear.  The current positions of the
objects/items were still there, and they were still transmitting at
the proper interval (minus up to 20% for randomization of transmit
times).

Do we want an exception in there for objects so that the track-lines
stay indefinitely?  If we do want an exception for that, only for
our objects, or for other's objects as well?

I guess it partially depends on whether people are using object
track-lines to describe line segments, areas, etc, for long time
periods.
