[Xastir] Automatic storing of tracks?

On my home Xastir station, I would like to have track logs saved daily for
some stations (primarily my mobile station).

Is there any way to do this with Xastir?

You know, it would be very nice if Xastir had an API type interface, so some
stuff (like this) could be initiated outside of the GUI. Is that already on
the features list?
