Bring up YaST and you should be able to search for zlib.

-devel you need.  C++ you don't, but it won't hurt anything.  As
we've (I've?) said 100 times or so on this list already, ImageMagick
can be a royal pain to install, mostly because the ImageMagick
developers don't cross their t's and dot their i's appropriately.
Neither do the packagers that create debian or RPM packages out of
them.

The trick is to look at your config.log file, find the section where
it says it failed to compile a test program using ImageMagick, and
see what it is unhappy about.  Often it is yet another library that
ImageMagick needs, which didn't get put into the RPM file as a
dependency.  Complain to the package maintainers as you find each
one, and then perhaps my next version of SuSE will be bug-free.  hi
