I am running a mixed Libranet/Debian (woody, sarge, sid) system and  
have problems with the online Tiger maps with either that package or a 
self-compiled xastir from CVS, so I doubt there is anything wrong with 
the package.  I was able to get a map once recently, but not repeatedly 
(I increased the timeout to the maximum).  I downloaded the Tiger maps 
from Curt's website and they work flawlessly.

I do not appear to be alone in this.
