[Xastir] disgruntaled with Xastir...ditched Suse

I'd have to look at it (and I will: I'm about to see how Xastir does on 
a dual Opteron running SuSE 9.1 Pro, but that's a whole 'nother story!) 
but this smacks of inefficient X activity, to me.  Rendering might be 
the culprit, at the library level.
