[Xastir] Sound/voice questions

It was working for me a few days ago...it does not produce any sound now, but
I think that's because I have the soundmodem driver up and running (none of my
festival stuff seems to work).
Running a perl "server" on the festival port, I am seeing everything that I
would expect to see from Xastir.

BTW, I'm running on Debian Sarge.
