[Xastir] Newbie help

I have a couple of Compaq LTE 5280 P120 40Mb 2 GB HD laptops.  I want to 
run Xastir on one.  This machine has only a floppy and a 10/100 card 
(not yet configured 3Com) and only DOS 6.22 on it.  I don't mind 
reloading anything on this machine.

What is the best Linux Distro to run Xastir on and how do I get it 
loaded on such a laptop with no CDR?

Any help would be great!
