Sounds like a better idea than the command line option. Windows users are 
very familiar with that type of dialog. Many programs have a tips window 
that starts up everytime you launch the program, until you click the "Don't 
show me this anymore" box.

That sounds like a plausible concept, and it could indeed require a number 
of changes until everything gets hammered out.

That's an open ended question. I would think that having the setup program 
add any requested maps would be good. If we are going to include a setup 
program, then we could do without a default World map. Having the default 
World map was just a stop gap measure to ensure something other than a blank 
screen showed up for the new user. The setup program could possibly add not 
only a World map, but might possibly have a couple more detailed maps of 
commonly requested areas of the world. It would be up to the user to chase 
down detailed maps of their local area on their own. That's the learning 
portion for you die hards!

What kinds of things can be preset for the new user in the setup program?
