A better way would be 'ln -s /usr/bin/gcc-2.95 /usr/bin/gcc". Since
Linspire is based on Debian, I would have expected that installing it
would have created the symbolic link (it certainly did on my Ubuntu
system, although that uses GCC 4.0, not 2.95.)
