Correct. I rarely zoom closer than 256, just right to view my entire  
county plus a little.

Not so much a problem as a curiosity. I might argue that the ability  
to turn it off would be worthwhile. While generally it is good to  
know whether a station is exactly where it appears, the extra drawing  
might cause confusion under some circumstances. One might be zoomed  
that close for a SAR mission, just as an example.

Just a thought.
