[Xastir] Tiger shapefiles --- xastir.tamu.edu?

There used to be a repository of 2003 TIGER/Line shapefile conversions at 
xastir.tamu.edu.  This server seems to be down --- or at least, when I try to 
connect to it I never get connected.

There was talk a while ago of converting the more recent files.  Is this still 
in the works (or should I say, are the folks who were going to do it still
interested)?
