As far as I know it is only the newest OpenMotif version 2.3 that causes the
issue.  OpenSUSE 10.2 has 2.3 in its repositories, so those of us installing
10.2 clean have run into the problem recenlty.  It appears both OpenMofif
2.2.3 and 2.2.4 are available from http://www.openmotif.org/, so installing
either one of those instead of 2.3 should work.  I forgot to mention in my
earlier message that it is actually a downgrade of OpenMotif that fixes
this.  I can thank Colin, G1IXV, for pointing this out to me when I had the
same problem a while back.
