I originally just downloaded the binary setup for Xastir,
but wanted to add "map caching" this afternoon, so went back and got
the source file. Once I got it all set up, the maps have been giving
me fits, as in taking WAY too long to download. I'm not sure whether
I have a "no map" problem, or whether the ISP here was having
problems -- currently the local ISP is down and I'm using my Sprint
datacard that I use when I'm on the road. Thunderstorms are rough
here tonight.

         Still working on it,
         Earl
