Which Ubuntu version are you running? On my Ubuntu 6.10, I see that
libmotif3 and libmotif-dev were both obtained from the Multiverse repository.
Do you have this repository enabled in your /etc/apt/sources.list file
(or in Synaptic)?
Lesstif is in the "universe" repository, because of its different license.
