Dear All,

The name here is Josh, AB9FT, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin (roughly 50 miles north of Milwaukee).

A while back go, I had difficulty with NWS gating to RF with Xastir. That is FINALLY no more! Ironically, one of the last discussions, was the exact same thing and it just happen to be my solution to why
I was getting nowhere with it. Apparently, this was never mentioned anywhere or emphasised, that you DO NOT USE the asterik in nws-stations.txt for each of the Weather Service stations that you want to actually want to gate to RF. Once realizing this, I setup the "Internet Server" with the correct filtering parameter, and behold it was working and seeing my SPC*/MKX* packets received from the server out to RF!

One other subject, I have a Mac iBook G4 (really love it) that I use for portable/mobile APRS with Xastir and have successfully compiled 1.90 soure code with it. I followed Dana's (N1OFZ) instructions, which were very clear and precise, and it worked well. In the past, I tried the same thing with Fink, and in my opinion, the use of MacPorts worked well and I think works a little better than Fink. I seems to have all the necessary stuff which was good and for the majority, I didn't run into any problems. However, there was some weirdness during the process. First of all, I had a problem with ImageMagick from MacPorts, and I got an error involving "checksums" which was frustrating. I was almost ready to try the source code of ImageMagick, until I tried GraphicsMagick. I was lucky as MacPorts had a "package" for it and was able to install it without having to get and compile the source code which I would avoided if possible. That was the only difficulty with the process. I am
also pleased to see there was a "libgeotiff" package with MacPorts, as in the past, I could never get Xastir to see libgeotiff but that wasn't an issue

All in all, really glad to see that worked as I can stay updated with my Macs (Mac mini and iBook) along with my main Linux machine that has the radio ports for 144.390 and 10.151 that transmits my WX info using a Davis Wireless Advange Pro II.
