All is Ok here. Guess my Ubuntu system messed up somewhere in the upgrade process, as there were other programs I found that also had problems. I now have a clean install of Ubuntu 8.04 and everything is working as it should, all programs. Thanks for all the suggestions. Murry VE9MB
