[Xastir] has anyone ever considered an info kisok in xastir ?

Yes.  That would be the solution here.  The Unix philosophy is to
string together smaller tools to get the job done, rather than
create one large app that does a lot.  In this case digi_ned would
be that small extra tool.  Use digi_ned for advanced digipeater
configurations and for info_kiosk sort of things.
