[Xastir] Xastir stable release 1.9.6

I downloaded and attempted to install, below is what I got along with  
a lot of warnings on a large variety of things?

Undefined symbols:
   "_libintl_gettext", referenced from:
       _create_appshell in main.o
ld: symbol(s) not found
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[3]: *** [xastir] Error 1
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2
