I'm using this for my configure ...

Since you're using 1.9.5 under SL I can't imagine why it puked when  
you upgraded. Seems likely it's one of the dependencies for the build  
(but not the run) corrupted. Try reinstalling or upgrading the  
dependencies you've got installed. I use Fink to ensure stuff is up-to- 
date.
