[Xastir] Weather Alerts (again)

Curt, et al,

I know we have been down this road before with my linux machine which is my home station.  I still do not see any weather alerts.

But, now with the testing of cygwin and the latest xastir (1.9.9), I don't see weather alerts with it either.  I followed the last set of instructions that Curt had sent me on Oct 14, 2009 (Re: Wx alerts).  So, it would seem to me that the common thread is perhaps my network.  Do I have to open any ports in my router?  I have an Actiontec router from verizon (which, btw, does not offer a port-opening ability), which may limit my ability to do any custom port opening, if needed.

I do see that the Interface | Interface Control menu says that the Internet Server is UP, so I assume that xastir should be able to "talk" to it, or at least receive.  Sure would be nice to get this strangeness behind me.  Anyone have any ideas, suggestions, words of wisdom to offer?
