[Xastir] soundmodem stops decoding

soundmodem is version .13-1
I run it with  -v5 verbosity, no complaints.

Have you tried kicking up the verbosity level on soundmodem (the -v flag) to see if it complains about anything important?  I don't know how Ubuntu's soundmodem is compiled up or what version it is.
