[Xastir] a feature request

I am operating an I-gate/WX station using Xastir 1.9.9 and a PK-96 TNC. I have not figured out how to add in a beacon comment or status text when the weather station is running. (It works just fine in i-gate mode without WX) UI-View DOES allow this when both igate and WX are operating from the same TNC.  The only workaround I could come up with is using the TNC in serial mode and programming a btext at a specified interval.  In essence, the TNC is still a slave to the computer for all i-gate operations and weather packets, but has a mind of it's own when it comes to status text/comments.

Is there any way the status text and comment could be enabled in Xastir when the weather station is running?  If not, how about considering adding that feature?
