[Xastir] Gpsd errors in xastir

OK, so I guess that everyone having issues is trying to use multiple apps simultaneously with their USB GPS?

Clearly some are, but I am not sure on others.

In my simple configuration, my BU353 is a Serial GPS Interface at /dev/ttyUSB0 .  No GPSD or other related daemons loaded. Works every time.

If I plug another USB device into the PC, such as a phone, I just make sure that Xastir is up and running with the GPS first, so that there is no contention for ttyUSB0

I am still running Xastir 1.9.8 on my mobile PC.  Is there something in 1.9.9 that changes the way a GPS is seen?  Will I be forced to use GPSD or similar daemons if I update?

Thanks
