I have used Xastir and Ubuntu for 11 months, I have alot of hands to shake on this mail list. I started with a Tnc-x
kiss tnc with a built in USB port. Go to the command line
$ dmesg usb

96939.530675] usb 4-2: FTDI USB Serial Device converter now attached to ttyUSB1
[96939.530705] usbcore: registered new interface driver ftdi_sio
[96939.530710] ftdi_sio: v1.5.0:USB FTDI Serial Converters Driver
The above is a segment of the list, above show FTDI USB, this the chip on the TNC-X, You should be able to find which /dev/ttyUSB? your TT4 is and enable under Kiss Tnc, Steve kd5mkv
