Nope.
Regarding the "1 File ?@ could not be read" message:
*) Might have permissions set incorrectly on one file in the /usr/local/share/xastir/maps directory or below.
*) Might have a corrupt file in that same area.
*) Could have gotten a bad map filename written into your ~/.xastir/config/selected_maps.sys file.
*) Looks like you don't have IM or GM support compiled into your latest.
Regarding the other messages:
*) Looks like you don't have IM or GM support compiled into your latest. Probably because you didn't bring down the development package for one of IM or GM, or some of the dependencies of those packages weren't met. Check the config.log file to figure out what is missing, install the packages, and retry running ./configure until you get the summary lines you want & expect, then compile/install again.
Having to kill -9 Xastir: Are you running a USB->Serial adapter of some kind? I remember having trouble with that if I unplugged the port while Xastir had it open. I've switched to real serial ports now at home and have no such troubles.
