I'm currently connected to my D72 with a serial connection to the com
port, and a pseudo-serial connection via the USB connector. In PACKET
mode, I am not able to see any GPS data from the internal GPS on
either port.

I have menu 202 GPS PC Output set to ON, and the internal GPS has a
current location lock.

It appears that the TNC Commands that address GPS functions available
in the PACKET command mode are designed to talk to the com port.

I don't see a way to point the TNC towards the internal GPS. I can
send text out the com port by using the GPSSend command on the USB
port... GPSS ABC123 will make ABC123 show up on the terminal screen
attached to the com port... Interestingly, lower case letters don't
have so well.

Hmm, when I started in APRS mode, I had GPS strings from the internal
GPS showing up on the USB port serial connection by turning on menu
202... All I could get out of the com port was waypoint sentences
destined for an outboard GPS. Aha.. something locked up my terminal
program when I switched back.

Doesn't look like it from my initial testing.

Not that I can see from my initial testing. There may be a hidden
command that would allow the PACKET mode to gain access to the
internal GPS, but then again there may not be.
