[Xastir] Help with TH-D72

In packet mode it should be looking for data from outside sources(whatever software U run for packet or APRS. When in APRS mode it should be receiving data from its own gps and firmware running APRS.

Unfortunately there's not a lot of APRS activity in Pittsburgh right now,
but it looks like in APRS mode, GPS data and incoming packets are passed
through the USB port to minicom.  So perhaps when connecting to Xastir, I
should have the rig in APRS mode.

I find this all counterintuitive, but this is what I'm observing on my
TH-D72.

It's late, I'll continue the testing tomorrow night.  But, thanks for the
tip, this is a bit of a breakthrough for me.
