[Xastir] xastir problems

Hi everybody

I have some problems with xastir on my machine. I have Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 
running and it works great! But when I try to run Xastir it just sits 
there. (I did have it running) I thought I could run the updates but I 
received "Permission denied"

Then I thought I could just go through the setup again and received 
"Permission denied"

So I am at a loss as to what to do. Can I do a uninstall and then do a 
install of xastir, and if so how?
