It might be useful, and I absolutely would be willing, but it's not for
everyone because soldering on to the tiny pins on the USB audio chip is
tricky.  In addition, some of the USB audio interfaces have an epoxy-blob,
not a packaged part.

I have also not fully tested it as I only have access to one radio.  It
appears to assert PTT properly, but when I have actually sent and received
a packet on demand I will be happy.

I'm not really sure how to submit a patch, and to be honest it's a bit of
a hack, and perhaps more of a starting point for someone who knows what
they are doing.  It's also not a new idea, but it's one of the reasons I
also asked (in another message) if we can have two independent soundmodems
on the left and right channels of a USB dongle with a stereo mic. input.
