I will send it to you off-list.

Here's what I want you to do:

   1. Apply the update
   2. Follow the instructions at http://wiki.complete.org/THD72PCAPRS to
configure the radio (two menu items) and Xastir
   3. Down in the "Use" section of that page, bring up the radio in
"APRS ro" mode. (Press TNC on radio, APRS should show up, select
the "ro" option that the page had you configure in Xastir.)
   4. Verify that Xastir has a fix on your location.
   5. Using Interface Control in Xastir, take that interface DOWN.
   6. This will turn off the TNC.
   7. Press the TNC button again, turning the TNC on to APRS mode.
   8. In Xastir interface control, bring up the "packet rw" mode that
the wiki page had you configure. The D72A display should now
      switch from APRS to PACKET12.
   9. Right-click somewhere on the map and select "move my station here"
to move it to a fake position.
  10. See if you get some feedback from the GPS to move it back to the
      correct position.
         1. These steps are because it looks like Xastir may still pick
up a packet from the working APRS mode that the radio was in
just prior to switching, and give an initial one-time fix.

Make sense?
