On Sun, Sep 23, 2012 at 05:17:18PM +1000, we recorded a bogon-computron collision of the <edodd at billiau.net> flavor, containing:
> I think I've got radio / computer communication, with some packets
> logged on the TNC and some on the interface.
> However, my GPS connection through the radio is a failure.
> Can someone summarise for me
> 1 how I should set the radio for GPS > Xastir
> 2 what the startup config should be for GPS > Xastir

You should be using tnc-startup.d72_d710

You should use "Serial TNC with GPS on AUX port" as your interface type.

If you are using Xastir from CVS, then make sure in the interface properties
that "Send Control-E to get GPS data" is not checked
(this is a new thing that wasn't in Xastir 2.0.0, and is checked by default).

I am not aware of any differences between the D700 and D710 that should
get in the way of using it with Xastir, but I only have a D700. There may
be gotchas that only a D710 user can help you with.
