Lee .. That is sheer brilliant.. Almost flawless. I installed your Deb 7
binary with Gdebi and it appeared to be happy with dependancies etc.

This was a live boot of Linux Mint Debian edition 201303 Mate desktop just
downloaded the other day.
I did not do any updates on the package info with APT before starting
either.

On running it I got this error.

mint at mint ~ $ xastir &
[1] 7786
mint at mint ~ $ xastir: error while loading shared libraries: libgeotiff.so.2:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

So I used Synaptic to install libgeotiff2 and it went with v1.3.0+dfsg-3
It then ran up ok so something in there fixed it.

Not sure if this helps but it works here great. This was a live boot of
Linux Mint Debian edition 201303 Mate desktop just downloaded the other day.
I did not do any updates on the package info with APT before starting
either.

Also I have noticed a lot of this happening that Ive never seen before. Its
obviously related to the Internet Maps downloads/cache.

Update - it's not documented anywhere yet (except in this message),
but there's now a Xastir binary for Debian 7 (Wheezy) available at the
following link:
